For the original character contest that :iconnyiana-sama:'s hosting. I've had Hana drawn FOREVER, but now seemed like the perfect time to finish her reference sheet up. Do I have a chance? Nah... but it doesn't hurt to have a bit of hope. Besides, I really needed to finish this :E

Anyways. This’ll be a long haul because there’s so much to go through, so bear with me please! You don’t have to read through it all, though. It’s just a bio and info.

Name: Hana [No surname]
Age: 1 (exact= 14 months)
Sex: Female
Species: Terragenis (Tehr-uh-geen-isc) (Plural form is “terrageni” )
Height: 3’ 4”
Weight: 68.2 lbs.
Birthday: 29 May
Blood type: B (negative)
Personality: Childish and optimistic, she loves to be around those she cares for. Extremely adventurous and curious, she often gets into mischief and wanders off further than she should. Her dream is to travel the world by foot, by herself. Exploring is her passion, especially when she climbs to the top of a tree. She loves to scare her parents by pretending to fall, only to grab a branch (either by hand or tail) at the very last possible moment. She’s broken a few bones this way, but it hasn’t stopped her yet. Sometimes she’s a bit too loud and can be extremely stubborn on things she believes in. She sometimes is a bit irrational, thinking with her heart rather than her head. Unlike most of her species, she is not afraid of humans, but simply dislikes them.
Likes: Flowers, the rain, climbing trees, her friends and family, heights, small children, animals (especially bunnies).
Dislikes: Snow, cold weather, getting picked on, not being allowed to wander, falling, the dark, humans, ruining her clothes, getting yelled at.
Fears: She is afraid of both fire and blood. Somewhat of the dark.
Strengths: Able to speak both her native tongue (language of the terrageni) as well as human (Spanish and little English). She has good upper body strength and tail strength and is a very fast runner.
Weaknesses: Dry weather tires her out easily and sucks at sewing. She tends to be somewhat clumsy when running. Sometimes too trusting or obstinate.
Residence: North American Forest (exact location unknown)

Flower Colour: Pink-Purple
Eye Colour: Purple
Family: Siblings--> Eldest of three (younger twin brothers) ; Parents --> Has both? xD

SPECIES INFORMATION:
* Terrageni “ears” change colour depending upon the season.
-- Light-Green: Spring
-- Red/Orange: Autumn, Early Winter
-- Brown (and wilted): Winter
-- Green: Summer, Late Spring

* Their moods and emotions vary depending upon the weather.
-- Rain varies among individuals. Some are sullen, others are more active during.
-- Sunny or warm weather is the same for all terrageni. They are very active and cheerful.
-- Snow or cold weather varies among individuals. Some are quiet/sullen or very listless, others are playful.

* Their tails (which resemble a vine) are able to be used for holding onto things (usually branches) or holding things (flowers, rock, etc).

* The flower on their head never “fully” opens automatically.
-- It closes at night.
-- When cold, it wilts and turns brow. It DOES NOT die. Once the warmth comes again, it perks back up and returns to normal.
-- It only opens completely (and outwardly) if they wish to use it as an “umbrella” to hide from the rain.
-- It “blooms”, or opens slightly/halfway, when they reach their maturity/adulthood of 2 years.

*They are asexual, but have “female” and “male” differentiations.
-- Girls have a thinner, “curvier” figure.
-- Boys tend to be thin but strong. Never are “muscular.”

*Terrageni are born through “seeds.” They seed is sprouted from the flower on the head (once the age of 2 is reached) every three months from the flower on the head, and then planted. A Large flower will grow and when it opens, the baby terrageni is born.
-- Takes approximately 5 to 6 weeks.
-- The colour of the flower bloomed determines what colour the flowers on the terrageni’s head and tail will be.

* Flower Colours:
-- Blue, pink, purple, yellow, red, black and white.
-- Any of these may be combined to a fading pattern (such as what Hana exhibits) or even “tie-dye” patterns, flecks of colour, or random patterns.
-- Flowers will always have a maximum of two colours.
-- Colour tends to depend on location, climate, and genetics.

*Hair Colours:
-- Any shade of green, white, brown, purple, and red or pink.
-- Occasionally, a “blue” haired terrageni will be born, but this is extremely rare.

* They do not have belly-buttons (due to lack of an umbilical cord), nipples, or finger-/toenails.

*Terrageni are herbivores. They eat berries, leaves, roots, and other items like them. They have canines only rarely, seeing as they do not normally rip anything.

*They are located in many places on the earth, but usually only in forests.
-- They never live in constantly cold climates or deserts.
-- Mostly abundant in North America, Asia, and Europe.

* They love to swim and are taught how once they are 10 weeks old, which is usually the time they start to talk.

*They are very passive creatures, if not extremely skittish at times. Rarely a terrageni will get violent unless provoked to do so (such as their young being threatened).
*The leaves on their heads (what are typically called ears) are not actually ears. They have holes underneath the leaves which are their ears—the leaves simply amplify sound allowing extremely good hearing.
*Their clothes are 100% organic. They are woven and/or sewn (usually with roots/bark, but sometimes they are sewn with long strands of grass) from nature.
-- Mostly used for clothing are leaves and flowers, though sometimes an elderly terrageni or an extremely talented terrageni (usually both) can make clothing from spider’s webbing thread or the silkworm depending upon location.
-- Some show off and make jewelry from things they find. Stone earrings (particularly clear or shiny ones) are popular among the girls.

*Blushing is a gene. Like being able to scrunch up your tongue, a terrageni being able to blush is dependent completely on genetics. It’s a recessive trait.

*They never are taller than 4' and weigh more than 90 lbs.

*Their blood is not red, but a green-ish blue colour.
